Eli BorgmanGame Developer

Hi! I'm a game developer based in Wellington, New Zealand. I am passionate about all things games.I have enjoyed my studies into both games programming and game design in and outside of university and excited about entering into a full time position in the games industry and continuing to grow my skills. I’ve studied game development for four years at Massey University, where I achieved a Bachelor of Screen Arts with Honours. I primarily use the Unity game engine, although I enjoy tinkering in other engines such as Godot and Unreal.

Echoes Abyss

Echoes Abyss was my fourth year project for my degree. Echoes Abyss was the response to a research question aimed around exploring the topic of immersion in 2D video games. The game was created with a small team of three where I took on the roles of Programmer, Designer, Technical Artist, and Writer. My main goal for Echoes Abyss was to create a mysterious and creepy atmosphere.- Studied a semester long research question based around immersion in games.
- Managed the project version control.
- Developed the projects code architecture and systems (C#).
- Developed the story and worked with our other designer on mechanics.
- Programming for various game mechanics.

11PM Onwards

11pm Onwards is a 2.5D side scrolling puzzle game.
You play as Rima, a gas station attendant who gets in an accident after finishing his graveyard shift. The player must solve puzzles and navigate Rima to his car while stuck in a time loop.
11PM Onwards was a game I helped work on during my second year of my degree. During the second year of my degree, the second years are tasked with helping out on a third year project. I had the opportunity to work on this project as a programmer where I contributed to programming some of the puzzle mechanics. Seeing that I was a second year during this project, my contribution was not as large on this project as it had been on the rest of them. 11Pm Onwards was still a great learning experience for me as it was my first introduction to working on a major project within a moderate sized collaborative team.
